Book a stay in a miniature model railway home, height restrictions apply

miniatur-wunderland-airbnbOkay, this isn’t really about model railways, but hey, it’s in conjunction with the world’s largest model railway and it’s for a good cause and that’s all the justification I need 🙂

Room booking service Airbnb and my favourite German tourist attraction, Miniatur Wunderland, are inviting guests to book the world’s tiniest Airbnb.

The home — being in the town of Knuffingen, in the centre of the model railway attraction — is naturally only available for guests who are 2 centimetres tall.

airbnb-miniatur-wonderlandBut it’s miniscule size hasn’t stopped the model makers at the world’s largest model railway equipping the home with everything HO Scale guests could desire at this time of year.

The house includes a luxurious postage stamp sized bed to a festive family room with its open fire and towering four centimetre tall Christmas tree. A thumbnail-sized sofa, paper-clip sized rocking horse and 40 mm wide fireplace also await.

Proceeds from each booking of the world’s tiniest listing go to Hanseatic Help, a charity based in Hamburg.

You can make your booking and read full details of the delightful home in Knuffingen on the Airbnb website.

This isn’t the first time Airbnb have gone big on model railways.

Back in 2014, they made a video of a locomotive travelling around a miniature world to represent how their room letting service makes the world a smaller place.
