A New Chapter: My Sister Site for Hand-Made Models Is Now Live

Little World Workshop logoJust a little update from me today – something I’ve been working on quietly in the background for a while now, and I’m finally ready to share it…

I’ve launched a brand new website! It’s called Little World Workshop, and you can find it at littleworldworkshop.uk. It’s a sister site to Model Railway Engineer, but with a slightly different focus – and I’m quite excited about where it might lead.

So what’s it all about?

Well, if Model Railway Engineer is where I discuss building layouts, share scenic tips, and generally ramble on about the joys (and occasional frustrations!) of the hobby. Little World Workshop is the place where I showcase the finished results.

It’s a home for my hand-made, premium models – the little scenes and bits of terrain I’ve been making for years, now with their own proper corner of the internet.

What makes this new site a bit different is that it’s not just about model railways. Don’t worry – there’s still plenty of that. But I’ve also branched out into creating fantasy dioramas, wargaming scenery, and other bits that don’t quite fit into a typical railway layout. Some are one-offs, others are small batches – all of them made by hand, with as much character and detail as I can squeeze in.

Why a second site?

Honestly? I just needed a space that felt right for this kind of work. Over the last year or so, I’ve found myself wanting to build things that tell little stories on their own – not just as part of a bigger layout, but as small, self-contained scenes. And not all of them sit comfortably within the usual railway world.

By creating this new site, I can give those pieces the spotlight – and I can also offer them directly to fellow hobbyists, without having to go through eBay or deal with listing fees and all the usual faff. That means I can keep prices a bit lower and still give each piece the time and care it deserves.

What you’ll find there

At the moment, the shop includes:

  • Finished scenic pieces for model railways

  • Fantasy and sci-fi terrain for wargames and display

  • Miniature dioramas – some realistic, some magical, all a bit different

It’s still early days, but I’ll be adding new bits regularly, and experimenting with different styles and themes along the way. If you’re into small, detailed models with a bit of soul, I think you’ll enjoy it.

Fancy a look?

If you’ve got a minute, I’d love it if you’d pop over and have a browse:

And don’t worry – Model Railway Engineer will keep ticking along just as before. This is just a new branch of the same tree. A slightly weirder, more whimsical branch, perhaps… but still very much part of the same creative journey.

Thanks as always for reading, and for all the support and kind words that keep this hobby so rewarding.
