I’ve got some exciting news to share – I’ve booked a stand at my very first model show!
That’s right, I’mgoing on tour (well, sort of), and I’ll be setting up shop at the Astolat Model Railway Show in Guildford on Sunday 29th June. I’m properly chuffed to be taking part – it feels like a bit of a milestone for me and the little models I’ve been quietly making in my workshop all this time.
Come See the Models in Person
This will be the first time I’ve taken my work out into the real world, outside of photos and eBay listings, so I’ve been putting a lot of thought (and more than a few late nights!) into creating a stand that shows the models off properly.
There’ll be a range of finished pieces on display – from detailed model railway scenery to a few fantasy bits and bobs – and yes, you’ll be able to buy models there and then if something catches your eye.
One of the things I’m most excited about is a miniature railway layout built inside a suitcase – a proper pocket-sized scene, complete with animated braziers, crackling bonfires, a little workmen’s hut and more. It’s all wired up and lit, and should be quite the talking point (fingers crossed!).
Why This Show Matters
Selling online has been brilliant – the feedback from buyers, especially the lovely 100/100 reviews on eBay, has been incredibly encouraging. But I’ve never had the chance to see people react to the models in person, or hear their thoughts face to face.
So, this show is a bit of an experiment for me – a chance to meet fellow hobbyists, get some proper feedback, and hopefully connect with people who love tiny, detailed things as much as I do.
The Details
If you’re local to Surrey and fancy a day out surrounded by layouts, scenery, and good old-fashioned railway chat, come and say hello. I’ll be there all day! My stand will be Little World Workshop, the sister site to MRE.
