Vintage Signs For Your Layout

Old Advertising SignLooking for vintage advertising artwork for shop signs and posters on your layout or diorama? This is a fantastic resource.

If you do one thing today, log into Facebook and visit the MissouriArkansasRailway page and take a look at the photos.

The modeller behind this page is creating a layout based on the Missouri And Arkansas Railway. But what got my attention and makes this page so useful is the HUGE collection of old advertising images.

There must be hundreds there that can be downloaded, scaled and printed to create vintage posters for placing around layouts and dioramas.

They’re naturally American-themed but many can be used on any layout. They’re great for creating little focal points around a layout and adding a bit of fun.

It’s a fantastic collection and I’ll certainly be following the page for future artwork.

If you don’t want to print your own and would prefer some more typically British-themed signs including charts and timelines check out the OO gauge vintage signs & detailing accessories pack from Scale Model Scenery (an N scale version is also available). Along with posters it also includes other detailing such as clocks, manhole covers, clocks and post boxes.
